After you qualify

The bit that
comes next

Qualifying tells an employer you are safe and competent. It does not tell you how to fill a diary, what to charge, or why a client who loved their first month has stopped replying. That is what the community is for.

What is it?

A community of qualified trainers, run by Daniel and Clinton, on the parts of the job no awarding body examines you on. There is a weekly call, and resources. Join after you qualify, stay for as long as it is useful, and stop when it is not.

Not a course

There is no syllabus to get through and no end date. It covers running yourself as a trainer, which is the part no qualification examines.

Run by working trainers

Daniel and Clinton are coaching paying clients around it, so you get what is working now rather than what worked once.

Open to anyone qualified

You do not have to have trained with PT Hut. It costs less if you did, and it is the same community either way.

The kind of thing it covers

What you need to know that isn’t on the course

This is the ground the community tends to cover rather than a fixed running order.

  • Where your first clients actually come from, and what to do in the first month
  • What to charge, how to say it out loud, and what to do when someone asks for a discount
  • Running a consultation that turns into a client
  • Keeping people past the first six weeks, which is where most trainers lose them
  • Going self-employed: insurance, contracts, invoices and the paperwork nobody teaches
  • Programming for the person in front of you rather than the textbook case

If you qualified elsewhere

The same community, open to any qualified trainer.

This is a separate service. It is not part of the Level 3 Diploma Practitioner in Personal Training (RQF), no awarding body examines it, and you do not need it to work as a personal trainer. Take it or leave it once your certificate is in your hand.

It sets the price: £30 a month if you did, £50 a month if you qualified elsewhere.
