What we use

We use Google Tag Manager to run Google Analytics, which tells us how many people visit, which pages they read and how they found us, so we can make the site more useful. Its cookies are only set after you press Accept in the banner, and Reject is one click. There is no advertising or social media tracking on this site.

What is stored, and for how long

pthut-consent: Remembers whether you accepted or rejected, so we do not ask on every page. Kept in your browser's own storage rather than as a cookie, and never sent to anyone.; This website, always. Kept for 6 months, then we ask again.
_ga: Tells one visitor from another, without saying who you are.; Google Analytics, only if you accept. Kept for 2 years.
_ga_ followed by an ID: Keeps track of a single visit.; Google Analytics, only if you accept. Kept for 2 years.

Before you choose, or if you reject

Google Tag Manager still loads, but it is told not to store anything on your device. Google may still receive a basic, cookie-free signal that a page was viewed, which cannot recognise you or link one visit to another.

Changing your mind

Press Cookie settings at the bottom of any page and choose again. If you reject, the Google Analytics cookies already set on your device are deleted straight away.

What else happens when you use the site

Our host, Vercel, keeps short-lived technical logs of page requests so the site can be run and kept secure. That is a record on their servers rather than anything placed on your device.

If you send one of the forms, what you type goes to PT Hut and never to Google Analytics. The privacy notice explains where it goes and who can see it.
